CHENNAI: The Tamizhaga Manavar Sangam, students' wing of the Pattali Makkal Katchi, organised a rally and held a demonstration here on Wednesday demanding the implementation of 27 per cent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in all the Central educational institutions of excellence in a single phase.

Addressing the activists, PMK president G.K. Mani urged the Centre to take steps for implementing reservation in Central educational institutions and minority-run institutions without succumbing to pressure.

The 27 per cent reservation for OBCs should be implemented in one go, immediately. Students from various educational institutions in the State, who participated in the demonstration, carried placards and raised slogans to highlight their demands.

A.K. Moorthy MP also participated. Earlier, the students took out a rally from Munroe Statue to State Guest House.
